The Richmond Shag club's charity of choice is Camp Fantastic, a program of Special Love, Inc. Camp Fantastic is a nonprofit that provides a strong, nurturing environment for children with cancer and their families; through its free camps and get-away weekends, emergency financial assistance and educational scholarships for young adults. Camp Fantastic is a week of summer fun where kids with cancer can interact with other kids fighting the same disease. Creating friendships with other kids suffering through the same thing has proven to be beneficial. 

Camp Fantastic provides all sorts of recreation, parties and exciting activities for more than 100 youngsters age 7 to 17 every summer.  A full medical staff from the National Institute of Health (NIH) is on-site to watch over their medical needs, which are ever present. This relationship allows Camp Fantastic to accept even the sickest children, who otherwise would have no camp options.

Richmond Shag club is very proud of the fact that over the last 34 years the members, working on various fundraisers, like a charity golf tournament, silent auction etc., have contributed over $391,000 dollars to help sponsor and enable kids to attend.
